Josie was being transported from a kill shelter in Indiana to a rescue in New York when she slipped her collar and ran. This blog details our quest to bring her to safety. You can help! Just post any sightings in the comments section....volunteers will be checking them regularly!

Welcome to "Where's Josie?"

Thank you so much for your concern for Josie. We're obviously all very worried about her, and are committed to her safe return. We will be posting several times daily with sightings, but you can help by adding any sightings of your own in the comments section.

I know you were trying to get trappers - any luck with that? Is she visiting the feed staions? This has haunted me, poor dog, poor people she got away from. I bet they haven't slept since this happened. My prayers are with you all.

I live off of Rte. 45 and am a volunteer for PAWS. I will be going back to my house this weekend. Is there anything you might need me to do to help?

Oh, it was on topix.net where there were many locals and nearby area folks chatting. I also posted her in the "dogs for sale" category, posted her as "lost" with blog site, just to maybe catch some attention to someone looking for a dog.

Josie Josie is a shy shelter dog who does not answer to her name. She is a cream-colored husky/collie mix, 2-3 years old and weighing about 40lbs. If you see her, please do not chase, it will only scare her. Try to draw her to you with food, and leave your sighting in the comments section of this blog. Josie is up to date on all her shots. She has recently been spayed, and still has stitches. There is a reward offered for her safe return. Thank you everyone for your help!!!!!
